Princes Gate Geothermal Control System Upgrade
Scope of Work:
Aquavent provided a custom control solution for the geothermal system. The project involved the installation of high-spec valves designed to handle geothermal fluid, pipework modifications, replacement heat exchangers, and the reconfiguration of the geothermal plant rooms to improve access and facilitate easier maintenance.
Rotorua Lakes Council Chiller Replacement
Scope of Work:
Aquavent replaced two Cooke chillers with two VSD screw chillers and one low-load reciprocating chiller, with Rhoss chillers supplied by Clima Solutions. The project included a full repiping of the plant room, installation of two new cooling towers, structural upgrades to the cooling tower supports, and the implementation of new electrical and control systems to improve overall efficiency.
Infracore Nursery Geothermal System and LTHW System Upgrades
Scope of Work:
This project involved significant upgrades and replacements to the geothermal and low-temperature hot water (LTHW) systems. A new plant room was designed and built in-house, with a replacement heat exchanger and new duty/standby pumps for secondary heating water. The control and electrical systems were custom-designed to suit the upgraded setup.
Rotorua Police Station - Main Station Construction
Scope of Work:
Aquavent installed a chilled and heating water system, including IT process coolers, approximately 75 fan coil units, an air-cooled chiller, and two gas boilers. The system also featured an air handling unit (AHU) with air scrubbing media to remove H₂S from the air stream. Additionally, two independent air scrubbers were later installed for the main IT room, enhancing the air quality control.
Hot Water Heat Pump Installation (Residential Project)
Scope of Work:
Designed and built a full underfloor heating system for the entire house, featuring two separate control circuits. A Mitsubishi Electric hot water cylinder, coupled with an Ecodan outdoor unit, was installed to provide hot water for both underfloor heating and domestic use. This custom-designed system offers energy-efficient heating and hot water solutions for the residence.
